Living roomThe smallest of the three, on a compact plot, and the one that proved a two-bedroom house on a town lane could feel large. The trick is the section: the living room is double height, glazed to the garden on the tall side, and the stair rises through it to a skylight so the middle of the house is lit from above all day.
The finishes set the pattern for the houses that followed. Micro-cement floors, oak furniture, rattan pendants, stone basins under backlit oval mirrors, and steel-framed glazing that slides away to the garden. The bedroom opens onto its own walled garden rather than the pool, so it stays quiet when the house is full.
It is a private home, not let, and the owners are happy to show it.
